Why isn't prostitution just 'work'?

"Sex work" sounds like "just another option", but in reality it often functions as a structure where male dignity is built on female degradation.

Work should come with exit routes, safety, and dignity; prostitution frequently exposes women to violence, objectification, and structures they cannot just walk away from.

In this section, we use radical feminist theory to unpack how prostitution differs from other forms of labour, and why calling it "just work" hides the power relations involved.
